SCHOOL is pleased to present A Day in the Life: An Exhibition Inspired by I Am The EggPod and the Beatles Get Back Sessions. In 2022 host of I Am The EggPod, Chris Shaw, invited a pot pourri of delicious guests to take a jaunty stroll through Peter Jacksons Get Back, day by day, everyday, on the day. 21 guests over 22 Days in January shedding light on each day from these incredible sessions. Get Back captures The Beatles in 1969 attempting to ‘get back’ into the studio and write and record a live album in 14 days. What resulted happened over 22 days, including George Harrison leaving the band and many awkward, confrontational moments, ending up in the basement of Apple HQ on Saville Row with George back, initial plans cancelled, joined by the fifth Beatle Billy Preston and little more than the want of finding a reason to play together. The many hours of footage, expertly pieced together by Peter Jackson shows the incredibly haphazard way the most influential band of all time just made things happen.
In 2025 the days match to 1969. Day by day, everyday, on the day the podcasts will be played in the gallery with a new creative response about the day being added on the day, everyday. From the 2 January an empty gallery will be slowly filled until the climax of a roof top gig on Thursday 30 January and a panel discussion and celebration event on the 31 January, the last day of the Get Back Sessions.
Many events will be happening throughout January including record nights, open mic nights, film screenings and many more. Events will be posted on the website and social media.
